At one point in his life Justin Woronick was working part-time in the Meriden public school system and was hoping to land a full-time gig there.
Time passed and nothing happened.
He eventually got tired of waiting around and decided to make a change. He would become his own boss and no one was going to get in his way. With a one year old son at home, Justin began his own landscaping and lawn care business in the spring of 2012.
Talk about taking measures into your own hands.
Now, Justin wasn't new to this line of work. Look at his resume and you'll notice that he's been working hard since he was 16 years old when he would mow lawns. What stands out about Justin is the fact that TO THIS VERY DAY, he still has clients that he's been working for since he was 16 years old!
What should that tell you?
He's the real deal.
With Justin, you can't go wrong by having him and his team care for your lawn. Many of his long-time clients can vouch for him no doubt. When asked what his biggest obstacle was when starting up his business, Justin said that initially, growing his clientele was difficult. Over time though, his work began to speak for itself. He eventually got to the point where he had plenty of word of mouth referrals.
Still though, he didn't just sit around and wait for work to come to him. No, he was busy printing flyers and distributing them as well as advertising on Craigslist. He understood that he had to put in a lot of work to reach his goals. Justin was able to work solo for around two and half years until he finally realized that he needed to expand. He then hired a team to help the business grow. These days, Justin and his team are doing a great job providing lawn care services to the Meriden community as well as the surrounding towns. The scope of their work doesn't stop at just lawn care. They also provide small engine repair, yard clean up and even snow removal.
Justin mentioned that he takes pride in his work and strives to deliver the best quality results for each and every customer. His knowledge and extensive experience surely help him do so time and time again.
His future goals for his company are to continue growing his business.
The busy season is closing in for landscaping & lawn care companies. If you're looking for a reliable company right here in Meriden, make sure to call Justin Woronick.
His work will speak for itself and leave you more than pleased.
Right across the street from the Meriden courthouse, at 55 West Main St., something's brewing but we're not talking about coffee nor craft brews. No, we're talking about ice-cream!
Owners of Downtown Freezy Freezes, Eddie Troche and his brother Alex, are working hard to prepare for their March 23rd grand opening. Both Eddie and Alex are originally from New York City and are like many that have migrated north from the Big Apple looking for tranquility and the space to think clearly. Originally, Eddie and Alex were working in business services helping other businesses grow through various different methods.
In December of 2019, they both came up with the idea of opening an ice-cream shop here in Meriden. A lot of work was has been put into this establishment already and they understand there's still more to be done. Alex at one point was putting in 21 hour days to advance in the work.
That's dedication at it's finest.
Of course, when starting a business, there are always obstacles. For Eddie and Alex, their biggest obstacle was getting partners who could share the same vision. Many doubted, but that didn't stop them from achieving this much. It's all about your mindset, sticking to your vision, not giving up and having the right team.
Both Eddie and Alex are best friends as well as family men. They're surely a team. That shows in the way they talk about their family and each other. It even shows in the way they speak about how they can help the community through their own business. You can tell they have the best of intentions for all of Meriden.
"This place will help kids be in a good environment instead of being exposed to the wrong ones", says Eddie.
An ice cream shop wasn't the only bright idea they came up with. A gaming center was the perfect addition to the vision of what Downtown Freezy Freezes could and will be. What's better for parents than letting their children get hyped up on sugar and letting them run around having fun in the gaming center, only to have them go home straight to bed?
It was a no-brainer.
Now, the guys don't only sell ice-cream. For all of you yogurt, milkshake and even bubble tea lovers, they've got you covered. Kids that make their way to Downtown Freezy Freezes will surely enjoy their time here.
As far as games go, there will be something for all ages. This business will be great for children and parents alike because of the games. From PS4's and virtual reality games to their interactive gaming system called Beam which projects fun games onto the floor. There are even old-school Pacman arcade games so, everyone will get a chance to feel like a kid.
Why choose Downtown Freezy Freezes over Chuck E Cheese's? The environment, the graffiti, which was done by family friend Ishmael, the games, a little NYC flavor and for all of the parents reading, how sanitary everything is. Cleanliness is a priority for these guys as they have regularly scheduled cleanings. When asked what their goals are for the future, they said they wanted to eventually expand, become a franchise and move to other locations where they can impact other communities in a positive way. It won't always be easy, but as Alex said,
"Without struggle, there's no success".
Expect Downtown Freezy Freezes to bring excitement to Meriden for a long time and be a hot-spot this summer.
